Mizo Dal

  • 1/4 cup moong dal
  • 1/4 cup toor dal
  • 1/4 cup masoor dal
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 3 green chillies
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil
  • salt to taste


Pressure cook the three dals for 3 whistles, and add turmeric while cooking.

Heat oil in a pan; add the onion and green chillies and saute them until they are translucent.

Add tomatoes and sauté them till they completely mushy.

Add the pressure cooked dal and water as needed to make it thin.

Serve the dish hot with rice.
