  • 500 g Lentils (Mung Bean)
  • 50 g Black Lentils (Adad)
  • 50 g Rice
  • Ginger Paste or Shredded
  • Dozen Chopped Green Chilies
  • 10 Chopped Garlic Cloves
  • Pinch of Asafoetida (Hing)
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper (Powder)
  • Salt to Taste
  • Oil to Fry
  • Sliced or Chopped Onion
  • Chilies


Mix mung lentils, black lentils and rice in a bowl.

Pour water in bowl so all the mixture is covered with water.

Keep this dalwada mixture aside for about 6 hours.

Now partially crush this mix in a mixture so it becomes thick paste.

Add ginger paste, chopped chilies, chopped garlic cloves, pinch of asafoetida, black pepper powder and salt into it.

Stir this mixture well, so all spices get mixed evenly with dalwada mixture.

Pour oil in a frying pan and boil over a gas stove.

Now put a small dough of dalwada mixture into the frying pan and fry it.

Take the fried dalwada out and repeat until you have finished with mixture.

Now cut the chilies into pieces and fry them in heated oil. Take them out of sprinkle salt on them.

Serve with sliced onion and fried chillies.
