Toramame-Ni (Cooked Tiger Bean)

  • 1 cup dried Tiger bean
  • 2/3 -1 cup sugar (75-110 g)
  • 1/3 -2/3 tsp salt


Rinse Tiger beans in water and cook in boiling water (measure about 4 times the amount of water compared to beans).

Cook beans uncovered on medium heat.

After beans reach a full boil, cover and cook on low heat for 50-60 minutes until soft. Add water every 20 minutes if water level is too low.

After beans become soft, pull out half the beans from the water. Add sugar and salt. Cook on medium heat and stir frequently until smooth. Add the beans back into the mixture and serve.
