Ingredients
Patties
1cuplentils, redcooked
1tbspharissa paste
1tbsptahini
2tbspground flax(flour or breadcrumbs would work)
2carrotshredded
1/2onionred; diced
2clovesgarlic(1 tsp minced garlic)
1/4tspcumin
1/4tsppaprika
1/2lemonjuiced
1eggs(or flax egg if vegan)
1tbspolive oil
1/4tspred pepper flakes
1/4cupcilantrochopped
saltpink; to taste
pepperto taste
Herbed Yogurt Sauce
1/2cupyogurtGreek
1clovegarlic(1/2 tsp. minced garlic)
1/2lemonjuiced
2tbspcilantrochopped
1tbspdillchopped
Instructions
Cook the dried lentils according to the package. Set them aside to cool completely.
To a bowl, combine all ingredients for the patties with the cooked red lentils. NOTE: you may need to add more flaxseed/or flour as needed. Make patties out of the mixture.
Heat a cast iron skillet with coconut oil and cook the patties for 4-5 minutes each side. May cover with a lid while cooking.
Meanwhile, mix all Herbed Yogurt ingredients together in a bowl.
Remove patties from the skillet and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve on a bun with the Herbed Yogurt Sauce. Enjoy!
