Since its first research into pulse crops in 1976, Canada's International Development Research Centre (IDRC) has invested almost CA$ 29 million in 68 projects around the world. This research has resulted in increased productivity, incomes and nutrition for smallholder farmers around the globe. IDRC's main office (Ottawa) will mark Global Pulse Day with a pulse-based meal and regional offices in Cairo, Delhi, Montevideo, and Nairobi will showcase the diversity of pulse dishes across the five regions.
