  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 4 medium carrot sliced
  • 4 stalks celery sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 medium sweet potato peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 3 cup split peas, yellow dried; picked over and rinsed
  • 1 (14 oz) link sausage, Keilbasa turkey Polska; sliced in coins
  • 2 (32 oz.) cartons chicken broth (could sub with veggie broth)
  • 1 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tsp ginger ground
  • salt to taste (optional)


  1. In a slow cooker, add onions, carrots, celery, garlic, sweet potatoes, and split peas. Cover with broth. Add spices. Cook on high 4-6 hours until sweet potatoes are tender & soup reaches a thick consistency. If needed, cook an additional hour.
