  • 2 15 oz cans black beans drained
  • 16 ounces salsa
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder


  1. In a large pot, combine one can of beans, salsa, vegetable broth, cumin and chili powder. Feel free to add any of your favorite spices as well. Stir everything together then bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce the heat, and allow to cook for 10 minutes, stirring intermittently. Using an immersion blender (or a regular blender) blend the soup until thickened. Stir in the remaining can of beans and cook for 5 more minutes. Add salt (or garlic salt, if you have it) to taste. Serve warm with your favorite toppings (such as diced avocado and cilantro) and enjoy!
