Global Pulse Day in Myanmar was celebrated on January 17, 2017 with the participation of Government Officials, members of the Chamber of Commerce, processors, exporters, traders from the pulses industry and journalists. The event was organized jointly by YRCCI (Yangon Region Chambers of Commerce and Industry) and MPBSA (Myanmar Pulses, Beans and Sesame Association).
The ceremony and feast took place at Yangon Region Commodities Exchange (YRCCI). Opening speeches were delivered by the chairman and secretary of YRCCI explaining the purpose of Global Pulse Day and encouraging quality improvement of pulses and beans in Myanmar.
The guests discussed the issues of judicial pesticide use, educational program for farmers, good agricultural practices and agreed to promote increased cooperation among pulse actors in the country.
